0xc1900101 - 0x30018 Error during update -> restore Win8
Hey,

I've tried to install the Win 8.1 Update via the Windows Store and got the 0xc1900101 - 0x30018 several times after the PC restarted at the ending of the update.

I know that several users solved this with disabling drivers, so I did some suggestions I've found.

1. Disabling AV (Kaspersky)

2. Disabling LAN Controllers

3. Uninstalling DAEMON Tools, TuneUp

4.

--> DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

--> sfc /scannow

--> wsreset.exe

5. Trying to repair Windows Update itself via "WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab"

6. Disabling AIDA

7. Disabling all components from my ASUS motherboard

some other things I can't remember...

For your information, I don't want to install Windows 8.1 from scratch, as I have too many programs and I never had problems with installing an OS for this system (Win7, Win8).

Thanks for the help

I called Microsoft about this problem.  Microsoft tech support (EJ)  told me that if I pay $99 for their support, they can guarantee to fix the problem.

So the solution is pay $99 for the free upgrade.

I fixed it with these things:

1. Uninstalling DAEMON Tools, TuneUp
2. via CMD (as admin) -> DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
3. Disabling Intel LAN, Azalia Audio, USB 3.0 via BIOS

I have the same 0xc1900101 - 0x30018 Error.
Problem was in pci-e card (asus N 53 dual band). I pulled it out of the motherboard and put another card (d-link DWA-525) and successfully install windows 8.1
p.s. Sorry for my english.

I have that same wireless adapter. Do I need to physically pull it out or can I just disable it in settings?

Hi,

I faced the same issue and error codes. It was related to drivers. I finally retried after having deconnected all peripherals and disabled AVAST antivirus and it succeeded. Worth to try.

Easiest is disable the LAN regardless of the brand of the card or the version of the drive it is running. This did the trick for a Sony All in one "Model SLV"

Was curious at what point do you pull the card out? Thank you

If your issue hasn't been resolved yet, I would suggest contacting Microsoft Technical Support for a Level 2 Technician. They should generate you a Windows 8.1 Key and do the upgrade manually. I had a similar issue and they took care of it in a few hours.

Hope that helps

Call them back and tell them that it is under warranty as that free upgrade offers a 3 month warranty on that license. They are being much more lenient now as they realize that its a big glitch on their part

I am with Windows 10 Technical Preview, and have the same problem.

I was able to eliminate 0x01900101-0x3000D by unplugging all USB devices and disable Asus motherboard functions: Azalia HD, Realtek LAN, ASMedia USB etc... but after that I got a 0x01900101-0x30018 with Windows 10 Technical preview too... I also disabled nearly all programs from startup, and ran via CMD (as admin) -> DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth without success.
